The use of
centrifugal force for the separation of solids from liquids or the
separation of liquid mixtures is a long-established
process-engineering technique with an equally promising future.
Separators and decanters are used for a variety of processes. These
include: beer, wine or fruit juice production; the dairy industry;
hundreds of chemical and pharmaceutical applications; the treatment
of oil and lubricants; and a wide range of further applications in
which centrifugal separation enhances product quality, reduces
processing times, reduces cost, the use of resources, and
environmental pollution.
The GEA
Mechanical Separation Division, with over 50 companies around the
globe, is the worldwide technology leader in the separator and
decanter market and the development of complete mechanical separation
process lines.
Supported by
more that 110 years of innovation, first-class engineering and
comprehensive processing capabilities, the company manufacturers
separators and decanters. These are used for the purification of
suspensions, the separation of fluid mixtures with simultaneous
removal of solids, and also for the extraction of material
constituents and the concentration or removal of water from solids.
In total, Westfalia Separator has gained experience with 2500
different process applications. The GEA Division is in a position to
adjust its products and services optimally to meet customer
requirements, and to provide the correct machine for a wide range of applications.
Similarly
Westfalia Separator moved very early to embrace customer relationship
management and is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. |
Allsurvey
Marine (Pty) Ltd. is a South African owned and operated company based
in Cape Town with offices in Durban and Port Elizabeth.
Established in
1984, as a Consulting Marine Engineers and Independent Survey
organisation, Allsurvey is staffed by professionals, each a
specialist in his field.
Collectively
we've spent 100 years at sea, in shipping management and surveying.
Born of the
sea experience taught us very quickly that any compromise of marine
engineering standards could endanger lives, valuable cargo, and the
financial viability of our clients' companies which was simply unacceptable.
Never to
compromise on quality is a discipline to which we are all
unswervingly committed.
A discipline
that has brought us rapid growth and built lasting relationships of
trust with clients all over the world.
It is these
very high standards of engineering that will also reduce your risk dramatically.
We invite you
to experience Allsurvey's very special brand of marine engineering
quality for yourself. |

Namport,
operating as the National Port Authority in Namibia since 1994,
manages both the Port of Walvis Bay and the Port of Lüderitz in Namibia.
The Port of
Walvis Bay is situated at the west Coast of Africa and provides an
easier and much faster transit route between Southern Africa, Europe
and the Americas.
The Port of
Lüderitz, located to the Southern Coast of Namibia caters for
Southern Namibia as well as providing access to markets in the
Northern Cape of South Africa.
Namibian Ports
Authority also manages a Syncrolift (dry dock facility) with vessels
up to 2000 tonnes that can be lifted for repairs.
The Company
has a staff complement of about 450 employees for both Ports and the Syncrolift. |
NamPower has
three power stations:
1.
Ruacana - Hydro - 240 MW
2. Van
Eck - Coal - 120MW
3.
Paratus - Diesel - 24 MW
Currently,
Namibia imports most of its electricity from South Africa and other
countries in the region. A special arrangement between NamPower and
Eskom, the South African Power utility, enables Namibia to buy and
utilise the surplus energy from SA at affordable rates.
NamPower and
Namibia are left with no option but to look at alternative power
generation sources. |
TransNamib is
the railway parastatal of Namibia. Organised as a holding company, it
provides freight by rail and road as well as passenger services. Its
administration is located in Windhoek.
TransNamib
operated 2,883 km of rail in 1995. Since then, further track has been
added to the network through the Northern Extension. Its operates on
1,067 mm narrow gauge. While focus has been primarily on freight
services, passenger services are an important component of TransNamib
and provided under the Starline logo. The Desert Express
is a tourist train to link Windhoek and Swakopmund.

IPRC uses its
patented MST system to apply microwave energy to destabilize
emulsions and facilitate their separation, thereby providing a
unique, new capability.
MST is
different from conventional methods because it uses physics, rather
than chemistry to destabilize the emulsion. MST utilizes rapidly
oscillating electromagnetic fields, and an affinity for selectively
energizing the charged and polar molecules that typically stabilize
the oil/water interface. This disrupts their capacity to stabilize
the emulsion. The physics MST uses are common to nearly all crude oil
emulsions, whereas conventional chemistry-based approaches must be
tailored to each emulsion, and other brute force
separators do nothing to address the issue of oil/water interface stability. |
