The Walvisbay
project has three phases that will generate 210 to 300 megawatt of
power, treat 200 000 m3 tonnes of oil per year. The combined
experience in the petroleum industry, international logistics and
trade makes NIMC and it beneficiaries an established leader in
emerging energy technologies.
In the midst
of an energy crisis, Namibia and its leaders are scrambling for
resources and alternative means of powering the economy. This is not
a local issue that can be resolved by simply buying more power from
our neighbouring suppliers. Eskom which supplies 50% of the required
power in Namibia has its own problems.
